Isolated Curricular Units

What does it consist of?

Isolated Curricular Units are teaching units with their own training objectives, which do not require the attendance of a study programme or cycle, but which are subject to administrative registration and assessment that translates into a final classification.

  • Holders of higher education degrees;
  • Students enrolled in IPL study cycles;
  • Students on mobility programmes;
  • Students enrolled in other higher education institutions;
  • Holders of a complete secondary education course who, on the date of completion, meet the conditions for access to higher education;
  • Interested parties who, although not meeting the conditions mentioned in a) and e), are over 23 years of age and meet the requirements to be able to apply for the competition for access to higher education for those over 23 years of age;
  • Holders of a Professional CV relevant to the UC area to which they are applying

 

Typology of curricular units that can be attended in isolation

The following can be attended on an isolated basis, by interested parties who meet the requirements set out in paragraph 3 of Order no. 36/IPL/2009:

  1. In the Bachelor’s degree in Dance course: any curricular units of the course, up to a maximum limit of 30 credits per academic year.
  2. In the Master's degree in Dance Teaching: all 1st year curricular units, with the exception of the "Introduction to Internship" course.
  3. In the Master's degree in Choreographic Creation and Professional Practices: all 1st year curricular units, with the exception of the "Introduction to Internship" course.

 

Documentation

  • Application request addressed to the Director of the School of Dance, with complete identification, contacts, academic and professional qualifications and indication of the curricular units to which you intend to apply;
  • Identification Document;
  • Certificate of qualifications;
  • Curriculum Vitae dated and signed, with respective supporting documents(*);
  • Other documents or information that one may consider relevant for classification purposes.

Observations: (*) All entries in the Curriculum Vitae must be accompanied by as much documentation as possible supporting the facts, experiences, training or other aspects to which they refer.

Calendar

  1. Curricular units of the 1st and 2nd semester:
    • Applications: July 15th to August 15th 2024
    • LED practical exams: September 3, 2024 (*)
    • Results: September 5, 2024
    • Registration: September 8th and 9th, 2024
  2. Unidades curriculares do 2º semestre:
    • Applications: January 1st to 31st, 2025
    • LED practical exams: between February 3rd and 7th, 2025 (exact date to be defined) (*)
    • Results: February 14, 2025
    • Registration: February 17th to 19th, 2025

(*) Only for students who wish to study UC in the scientific areas of Interpretation/Creation and Design

 

Vacancies

  • Undergraduate course units: 1 (one) place per class
  • Master's degree curricular units: 2 (two) places per each curricular unit
